Insanity

So I decided to hit the workouts hard and ordered Insanity from Beachbody. Since I am a coach I get the program at a discount and their products have never failed to impress me! I have done many of them, and I wanted to be able to tell others what each program is like.

Today I did Pure Cardio. Holy smokes, that workout was amazing, awesome and semi-painful all at the same time! The warm-up would wear out a newcomer to fitness, then you get the awesome stretch break! Being a yoga teacher, that tends to be my FAVORITE part of the Shawn T Insanity workouts. The stretch is followed by about 20 minutes of HARDCORE work til you puke cardio! He does encourage you to take breaks when needed, but I felt kind of wimpy if I did, so I just kicked through (literally in some cases).

I was also on the second day of a cleanse program, making this a particularily difficult workout. So, after one Insanity workout, I am hooked! It was awesome! I am going to incorporate the cardio portions of Insanity with the resistance work of Chalean Extreme to see if I can get the best body of my life!

Are you with me? You can email me or take a peek at my website for more information! If you need help picking a program, just let me know. Insanity is NOT for beginners, but Chalean Extreme can certainly be modified to be used by anyone! Power 90, Slim-in-6 and Turbo Jam are also options for those looking to get started on a fitness program!

My goal is to HELP YOU get fit and healthy! Are you ready to just press play??

I look forward to hearing from you!!

I'm Back....

After over a year of no blogging, I am back, and what a year it has been. The last post on my Wordpress blog was an outline of things I wanted to accomplish in the year 2010. Some I finished, some I did not and some turned terribly awry.

So I went back out to my Wordpress blog to start updating again, and unfortunately, for some unknown reason, it was suspended, with no instructions on how to "unsuspend". So rather than spend hours on the phone or with some virtual online support line, I decided to just start new. Since in many ways life has started over, I figured a new blog, with a new name was a nice fresh start, so here I am!

What will this blog talk about? Well, fitness, eating right, relationships...just your regular, everyday stuff. Let's start with a little introduction of myself and what I do!

My name is Jennifer Monsos. For over 25 years, Valentine was attached to the end of that name with a hyphen. The decision to change back to my maiden name after my divorce was a year long decision that I am now glad I made. I was married for over 25 years, and have three of the most wondeful kids in the world.

My oldest daughter, after completing college, moved to Minneapolis. She works full-time, lives with her significant other and had 2 cats, Ray-Ray and Little Moo Cow. My second child, who is 21, is married and has the most beautiful baby girl in the world. She works in home health and also sells Pure Romance products. More on that later, I will give you a link! She lives closeby, and I get to take care of my little grandbaby alot! She also has two dogs, Rudy and Max. My "baby" will be 19 this month. After deciding the traditional school route wasn't working well, he decided that a full-time job was in order. He works hard and supports himself, as do all my children. They all chose different paths, but their own, and I am so very proud of all of them.

I now live above my yoga studio, with a roommate, Rachael. At 46 (almost 47), it is wonderful to live with someone who I sometimes get to "mother" and sometimes get to "friend". She is 26, and has turned into much more than a roommate. We have been through alot of stuff together, and I sincerely value her friendship.

I have a wonderful significant other, Steve. I hate using the term boyfriend...we are in our 40's for heaven's sake! We finish each others sentences and can't seem to spend enough time together. We have both decided that everything that happened in the past, happened to bring us together now. I don't think I would have appreciated how wonderful he is when I was younger, or before going through the stuff I have gone through. He is the guy who changes your oil before you notice you need it done or makes a new room in your yoga studio because it looks like wasted space...he can put a smile on my face with just a glance in my direction.

Never having been one for romance or mushy stuff, this is all kind of new to me! After a horrific relationship between the marriage and Steve, I was actually in a "man-hating" stage when we met. A mutual friend introduced us, and both of us were somewhat apprehensive about meeting, as neither of us was in a place where a relationship was even on our radar...more on this (and the horrific relationship) in a future posts!

I teach yoga, am a Beachbody coach and do some accounting work to put food on my table. I am a Gemini and the split personality is obvious....I am a little flaky and if you are gonna hang around with me, you just have to get used to it!

So there it is in a nutshell, all to be elaborated on in future posts....46 year old single grandma...follow me on my simplicityquest, won't you?
